My Dad's Diagnosis

So, Dad has stage four lung cancer, which isn't curable. He is not a surgical candidate, but they want to try to do chemo in order to slow the cancer down. The doctor says he will probably live about six more months without treatment and maybe nine months with treatment. So, not a good prognosis ( Read more... )

Aw, Honey, I'm so sorry! Such hard news! Know that you're loved and you and your family are being prayed for. Also praying for wisdom for the doctors.

You take all the time you need, my friend. We'll be here. Thanks for sharing with us.

God's creation has a soothing effect on me, too. He will take care of you.

My friend, reading this felt like deja vu. My father also was unable to accept his diagnosis -- and fought his cancer tooth and nail for the last three months of his life. Looking back, I wish I could have somehow convinced him not to go the chemo route and to enjoy the time he had with his family using comfort meds. As it was, he was so very sick those three months because of the chemo more than the cancer, and it didn't change the end result ( ... )

Of course, other things - RL, your Dad, your worries - take priority!! And no worries on responding, yes? Take care of you. Take care of your loved ones as best as you can and love them with all of your heart.
