"My, you're impatient, aren't you?" She smirks and continues walking.

"I can see how the Nexus would be preferable to that, yes. What do you think the prospects for the future of your world are?"

"The Zerg, the race of animalistic aliens outnumber us a hundred to one, and they continue breeding. The Protoss, the other race, are more advanced than we are, and outnumber us at least three to one. Inevitably we'll fall to one of them. Right now our men on all fronts are fighting just to protect their cities."

"I suppose an alliance is unheard of?" She sighs, mildly annoyed at people in general, not just humans or aliens. "I'm sorry your world is in that state."

Nova shrugs. "We brought it on ourselves. The generals and rulers decided the aliens didn't deserve to live and attacked first. The aliens just countered. Now We're the one's going extinct."

"Weren't the aliens there first?" Yeah, she's just pointing out how stupid the humans were. "And what is your role in all this?"

"Men aren't the best of people to lead a country. Especially egoistical ones."

"Me? I was drafted into the Ghost program because of my 'exceptional psionic abilities.' Basically, I'm a glorified assasin. Though how glorified is still in debate as no one outside the chain of command even knows I exist."

"I have to concur, I fear." She resits and takes a sip from her drink.

"You haven't got family? And how exceptional are they? Are your abilities rare or just more evolved than in other people?"

She shrugs again.

"I wouldn't know. A mind-wipe is compulsory for all Ghost operatives. Telepathic and telekinetic, apparently only one in a hundred thousand psions have both."

She raises an eyebrow. "You don't mind that?"

"How strong are your powers?"

"They tell me I volunteered for it. So I'm sure I had some reason."

"Well, if I don't strain them I can lift a small car. The telepathy is just thought reading, and memory things."

[dimension_bitch]

"Hmm, yes. Quite likely." She finishes her drink and puts the cup back on the table.

"That's not too bad. How much control do you have over the telepathy?"

"I use the telepathy at will. But sometimes, if I touch something, I get a flash of the thoughts of the last person who touched it. I can't control that one, though."

"My, that sounds uncomfortable. Perhaps there is a telepath in the Nexus who could give you advice? I know for a fact that there are some pretty powerful telepaths here."

"It is, but it's not as bad as most people think. I'm sure I could find someone." She smiles.

"Well, if you're not bothered by it," she smiles, then leans back as their food arrives. Hmm, pasta.
