I'm glad he returned your messages. I was all prepared to give you my standard "men are still really children through their mid-20s so you may want to consider dating a 30 year old" speech, but now I don't have to. I seem to give that advice to my female friends a lot. 15-25 can be very awkward years for us males. I'm always apologizing on behalf of my whole gender.
Part of my obsolete prepared speech might still apply -- if he's young - early 20s, in a few years he'll be an even better man than he is now...! Something to look forward to...
