Diapers leaking

Oct 16, 2009 21:55

For those who use disposable diapers (or I suppose for those who use cloth, too, if you have any ideas!) - do you have any problems with leaking? See, they are totally fine during the day, Ilan never has any leaks during the day, but that's because he's changed pretty much every three hours. At night, however, he goes longer than that, and he * ( Read more... )

any time kiernan leaked through diapers, we went a size up, and it worked like magic every time. He hasn't leaked through since our last size up, until this week, but that's because he's had diarrhea every day since Sunday night. The combined fluids of pee and lots more bowel movements of bad diarrhea just isn't holding up well in the diapers, so I change him every 2-3 hours right now. Poor kid.

Wow, maybe going up a size really would help! I'll feel pretty stupid if it does and I could've just done that all along :P Now is the perfect time to try, though, because we only have two diapers left :P Which reminds me that I need to run to the store before bed to get some. Or maybe he can make it til morning cuz I'm tired! :P

That's horrible about the diarrhea! Is he sick or teething or something?

We had problems with leaks when he was a newborn - but not since. We use Pampers - size 4+.

We use store brand diapers now - we used to use Pampers, too, but when these spots on Ilan's back kept getting worse, the doctor said to try different diapers so we just bought store brand and they worked fine. I like paying like half the price now! But anyway, yeah, I just went out and bought some size 4s today, so we'll see how they work tonight!

Just went out and bought 4s :) Thanks! We buy cheap store brand now so it's not a big deal if they don't work, plus even if they don't fit, they will eventually so I can just save em. It's just so weird that during the day, even for 4 or 5 hours, size 3s work just fine, and even have growing room, but I guess it's just different at night because he's on his stomach or side for so long.

We went up a size and got the nighttime diapers, which have extra absorbency in the front. If you don't want to buy separate diapers, which by the way last a while since you only use them at night, you can buy diaper inserts. I know they have them at Toys R Us. We used them a while with the night diapers and they worked great, but now that he is up a size we don't seem to need them anymore.

I haven't looked at the nighttime diapers, and I just went out and bought some size 4s, but if that doesn't work, I'll check those out, thanks!

I've done nighttime diapers. I swear, it's a colder weather thing. I use cloth diapers in the daytime and at night in the warmer weather, but as soon as the colder weather hits, they leak through anything so we buy disposable nighttime diapers.

I also agree on the size up thing- every time she leaks we realize she's outgrowing her diapers. But I also want to try those night-time diapers to see if they help.
