What's Up Physically This Week? Having a lot of "stress induced muscle spasms" lately because of what is going in my life and what lies ahead in this pregnancy, and how on Thursday will be the most pregnant I have ever been in my life. My medications make me quite ill feeling, but if it gets worse I will be going to be admitted into the hospital for a while

What's Up Emotionally & Mentally This Week? Stupid bassinet recall. Nuff said.

What Are You Reading - Books, Magazines, Web Sites? Same as before.

Random Things Of Note? None today.

You're up early!

I hope your muscle spasms calm down, and the nausea too. Sounds hard to take.

More just like up late! I'm officially on maternity leave now, and have been staying up late to see my husband come home from work.

What's Up Physically This Week? Nothing much new. Sleeping pretty terribly.
What's Up Emotionally & Mentally This Week? Feeling quite calm - but a bit down after the antenatal class on Friday where we toured the birthing centre, labour ward and maternity ward, and talked quite a bit about the baby blues and postnatal depression.
What Are You Reading - Books, Magazines, Web Sites? The Life in the UK Guide - I want to apply for UK citizenship (been here 10 years and the passport would be useful) before November when they change the rules again.
Random Things Of Note? We have builders in as of 8am this morning - 'demolishing' our living room in preparation for new non-carpet floor, new plaster walls etc etc. Makes me feel very grown up ;)

What's Up Physically This Week? horrrible lower abdomen pain. i can't tell if its round ligament/weight pain or if its a constipation pain? i dunno--i can rant about my new doctor and how i specifically asked that that he refill my vitamin prescription from my old doctor and he refused and gave me a script for a totally different vitamin and i haven't pooped since then. its now day 5. i'm pissed.

What's Up Emotionally & Mentally This Week? ehh. okay. i got in a screaming fight with one of my aunts yesterday. she started in teasing me about my name choice and i blew up at her and said if she wanted to name it the she should get pregnant, but otherwise her comments were rude and unwarranted. she then rebutted with "you're just hormonal" and i said "no you're just being a fucking bitch." i'm real nice. but seriously, anyone else having to deal with these sorts of comments from family?

Random Things Of Note? i'm just addicted to CNN right now and i'm in albuquerque for the holiday but i thought to ( ... )

exactly. I can't fathom how anyone except the baby's parents thinks that they have a right to do anything other than SUGGEST names, take their rejection gracefully, and respect your name choices. My family's in Australia and I'm in the UK, but I'm sure some of them (not immediate family) would have something to say. I hate how any time someone says something that would upset us NORMALLY, it's blamed on being pregnant. Bastards.

I stopped taking prenatals (I kept up the folic acid and some other vitamins) after two weeks because the constipation was so bad. You have my sympathy. Did your doctor give you a good reason for not giving you the vitamins you wanted? Could you see someone else just for that prescription or maybe try an over the counter brand?

p.s. what's the holiday you guys are all having? I know about 4th July and Thanksgiving and that's about it ;)

labor day...or, if you're canadian--labour day. :)

it's our version of workers' day or international workers' day. most countries have it on may 1st.

Aw. I'm pleased you're getting a surprise shower :) My best friend made murmurings about one when I was in early pregnancy, but she is notoriously flaky and it's not the done thing in the UK anyway, so I doubt I'll be having one. If I was in Australia, there is no way my mother or sister would let the opportunity pass...

I've had a friend at work offer babysitting already too! I wonder if she'll be so keen when the time comes.

What's Up Physically This Week? tired. i don't sleep well because i can't find a comfortable position. my husband has started giving me massages with grapeseed oil, which is nice. i guess i can't really complain too much.
What's Up Emotionally & Mentally This Week? i'm grumpy a lot. lack of sleep makes me grumpy. so does discomfort.
What Are You Reading - Books, Magazines, Web Sites? blah. my midwife gave me a binder full of information to read, but i read it already. mostly on the internet i read about the american election, even though we'll probably have our own this year. can't be bothered to read about canadian politics. i hear about it too much from my in-laws.
Random Things Of Note? my mom wants to throw me a shower. i don't want a shower, but i don't really know how to say no. also, we are getting around to fixing up the baby's room. reproduction mate and i got paint today.

Me too. Our bed is not big enough for my limbs to be outflung as they need to be!
