New phonage

Nov 10, 2010 00:33

So my contract runs out on January.

I'll be getting a new one, and thus a new phone. Was wondering if people had suggestions.

Anything people can recommend/advise against?

No thoughts on fancy phones (because I'm still fine with a phone that's just a phone) but please do steer clear of Vodafone.

It is all down to how much you want to pay. On the cheap end, I'm very happy using my LG GT540, which Carphone Warehouse have from 12 quid a month. It's not got as large a screen as the HTCs, but it runs Android 1.6 out the box, and there's an official update to Android 2.1. There's a slight flaw with how it handles 3G connections occasionally, but it's got everything you'd want in a phone.

(Oh, it's also down to whether you want touchscreen. My LG is resistive touchscreen, but amazingly sensitive.)

Touchscreens take some getting used to. :p Aside from that, despite the shiny adverts that are everywhere about Three improving their coverage, as far as I can tell, they haven't. I miss O2. :(
