Why not? I know several happily married couples comprising African-American women and European-American men. The male demographic group most maritally challenged is Asian-American; members of the two maritally challenged demographic groups would do well to cast their dating nets widely including one another. I wonder why in a demographically diverse urban borough where interracial couples are quite common I rarely see African-American female Asian-American male couples.

Re: Less educated Americans turning their backs on religion:
There's a chicken and egg aspect to this: does poverty lead to behaviors that normative value systems disapprove of or is it the other way around? My May post includes a chart that finds agnostics and atheists towards the lower end of the income by religion curve.

Or more specifically non-affiliated are at the lower end and the seculars are in the middle of the chart.
