More packing. I'm coming to hate the library that I've built up over these years. Cutting down so many of the books from what I'll be taking with me, putting them into storage to save me the cost of moving them twice in the space of a year - it's all very sensible, but just the sheer awkwardness of them in this situation, and the worry and ( Read more... )

recently our children were home for our daughter's wedding-I had all three of them get rid of stuff they had left behind at home-I had them get rid of books-all three of our children are readers and had left tons of books at home-we had them get rid of the books they did not want or store some here if they could not part with them-Josiah gave some to his girlfriend and mailed a box of books to her-Caleb the oldest did not want any of his books-Beth got rid of a lot of books-I took some of the books that our kids had-but we donated boxes and boxes of books to ACCU for their annual booksale held here in Holland in September. I could have sold the books but why go through all the work of hauling them to Grand Rapids Mich to some used book store-I do not look forward to the day we have to leave this house since we have tons and tons of books! Books are a joy but can be a burden when having to move-I can relate to what you are going through having to move books-peace

I have just started to feel the burden of my own library (which I can't wait to show you). What I would have done if I was still in "itinerant" mindset when my parents announced their eventual downsizing, I have no idea.
