Personal/Theological Notebook: iTunes and my life; Students for Next Semester; Fides Dinner

Sometimes I think that the most interesting piece of data on the iTunes display isn't the "Play Count" column but the "Last Played" one. I glance at it, as "Suffer Little Children" by The Smiths is playing, one of 282 songs in my "All Time Favourites" playlist out of my 4913 songs in iTunes. And I think, "Have I really not listened to this song ( Read more... )

Jenny DOES rule. She should come to North Carolina and do something about the theatre situation here, let me tell you.

Well, let's see. At this point I can offer $18 in one-dollar coins and about 3/4 of a trayful of homemade fudge. Something tells me that Jenny might hold out for a better offer from elsewhere.

b>It was the strangest sensation of "catch-and-release," of throwing her back into the water until she grows more.

Which means she will never take the course with you, likely... awww.

I saw seniors and juniors from all across the university curriculum, but if the numbers can stay low, it can turn into much more of a "reading circle" or "book club" dynamic than a "classroom" one, which I'm really hoping for.

Lucky dog -- my class has now filled up, and I don't even have the roster yet so I can scare them off with my wickedly terrifying syllabus!

that I had hoped to sit in on this year, before realizing I just didn't have the time.

Gooood boy. Dissssertation.

I kept laughing at the sheer fun of it all.

Whoa! Our six degrees of separation just got A LOT FEWER. I'm guessing by "recent grad" you mean "last year", since that's the only Julie I can come up with. Bizarre! I didn't know where she'd gone.

And, errr, I don't know what constitutes "the rise of theater", but I am half of the people that were in charge with picking up the reins when the productions became student-directed again and organized the budget and suchlike things. Heck, I'm even the person that the administration gives manilla envelopes to that are full of manuscripts of "truly Catholic plays" that are submitted "for our consideration" after being written by random "truly Catholic people". :D I guess that makes me in charge? But I am not directing this year.

STILL! Say hi to Julie for me!
