Theological Notebook: The Times STILL Having Trouble Listening

The NYTimes, unfortunately has become a complete rag......totally lacking in any depth or objectivity. How sad. You are absolutely correct: That paragraph is totally at odds with what the Pope said.

What is equally sad is that, as I sit in here at the College, I see one academic professor after another religiously picking up their NYTimes. They would do far far better to pick up the WSJ. Yes, they have their leanings, as well, but a Jason Blair is far beneath them.

Related to this idea of faith and reason is a book I just finished: "The Religious Sense." Wow......Giusanni is very good. To Giusanni, the religious sense, that is, the search for what is most meaningful and real, is truly the most humane and rational thing a man can embark on. He does a swell job arituclating it. I will be doing a post on it, once I have a clear head, which could be a while. :-)

Is it not an irony that a great newspaper, like the Times used to be, and which owes its very existence to the protection of reason, cannot even fathom that the Pope may be the most articulate voice for the defense of such reason?
