Mike is just the right amount of underdeveloped on the show that there is a bit of leeway with his character when writing him, which is fun. So I really just wanted him to be that knight in shining armor that Santana so badly needs. Stuff like carrying books is totally normal for him cause he is Mike Chang, sweetest boy ever haha.

Oh Miketana I love it so much.

And this was just so simple. And I loved how there was just that moment when Santana realizes how this is different and how she likes that it is different.

Aw thank you! It was a bit harder to write this with all the knowledge that Santana is capital G Gay now, so I figured at the very least I should give her some respect. She clearly hasn't gotten a lot of that in the past (definitely reinforced by her own actions as much as others) and I figured Mike Chang wouldn't be the sort to give up easily. He would just be the nice guy until the end.

I know what you mean. But Mike is one of the few guys that I can ship with her no matter what she is. Actually, he may be the only one that I can actually ship her with, outside from a bromance perspective.

And I like that interpretation of Mike. He's a nice guy who is just nice. And that's what Santana needs, whether girl or guy.

Aw, Mike Chang! And Santana! Together!

I had never considered the two of them together, but I love what you did with this: the slow evolution of Santana wanting to date Mike for all the wrong reasons into finally wanting to date him for the right one. And my favorite characterization of Mike is Mr. Nice Guy, so I enjoyed his role as that here, especially how he gave Santana the time and space necessary to figure her shit out. So sweet. :)

Aww, Mike!!! This is so cute! I've never even thought about Mike and Santana together, and I pretty much like her with anyone. But Mike is the perfect salve for her armored heart.

Great characterization of Mike, too. He gets nothing on the show, but this is definitely who he is and what he's all about.
