Remember that no matter how well you do on a test, the derivative of your score is still zero.

True, though the derivative of a billion trillion gazillion dollars kept in an account with no interest is also zero, but I'd still take it! (Though I suppose withdrawals and spending mean a negative derivative, but I'll take that, too!)
