Yes, and as that moment exemplifies, I ought to continue to pick my moments. It's the barrage of lame jokes that I've got to work on. Since my French was what it was, only the profound ones could come out!

I was willing to do or say almost anything for the sake of attention. I think I got into being this character that I really wasn't. I'd always try to say the weird thing or make the awkward joke.

Yeah, that sounds a lot like how I was (and sometimes still kind of am), too.

Yeah, and for my part I'll probably always be at least a little this way. My brain is totally geared for it now! It's like I've become an adept ballet-dancing cave troll.
