Billy ignored any and all of his roomie's comments about not telling him he was going on a date and who with and god you're acting like such a woman and you look fine and you sure you want to wear that shirt and no you do look fine and ( Read more... )

The lamb chops were better than the date itself, that was for sure. They had a sprinkle of lemon and if they weren't the best lamb chops he had ever had then he would pay - well, his date money. Which is kind of what he did when he paid. Again. It was a thing he had. He wouldn't accept Billy to pay. Not for this travesty of a night.

Driving up to his place, he got a parking space right in front of the building. He would have agreed with Billy except - there was one thing that Billy hadn't taken into account.

"Well, it's not over yet," he said, unbuckling and climbing out of the car.

It hadn't been a good idea. They both knew that. So why did he say yes anyway? Yes, he wanted to do it, but why did he say that? It had been a bad idea. He never seemed to listen to himself when he knew there were bad ideas.

Billy wasn't so sure he wanted to get out and go up to Devon's place anymore. But he did, because that was true, it wasn't technically over yet. "Forgive me if I'm a little pessimistic for once. Maybe I should just go."

"Well, I'm not going to drive you," Devon said, putting his keys in his pocket. "Just come upstairs. We can...salvage this," he said, half-meaning it. He even held the door open for Billy. It wasn't that this was a bad idea, it was that neither had been ready. Not - in this way. But, maybe they just had to hash out there feelings. That couldn't be done in the streets.

"...Right. Okay." He wanted to give it a shot. If this could be saved...well. He wasn't sure what would happen if they could, but he'd try, just because Devon wanted to. Billy would've been perfectly happy letting the entire thing drop and then never bringing it up again. "I guess...maybe. Maybe we can."
