Notts is a great city with plenty going on (although hey maybe not compared to New York), there's lots of nice places depending on what you like (easily checked out thanks to the magic of the Internet)
Few favourites:
The Broadway Cinema Lee Rosy's Tea Shop Wollaton Park Nottingham Playhouse Lakeside Arts Centre Newstead Abbey Chocolate Utopia Rescue Rooms The Social Cookie Club
Ohhh the words "Chocolate Utopia" sound so lovely together!
I sadly do not live in the funfun city of New York, but rather the expansive, hickish "other" region that makes up the entire rest of the state, so trust me, if there's plenty going on in Nottingham, then I'm willing to bet that's a lot more than is going on in my hometown.
Thank you for the suggestions! I like the idea of getting personal choices rather than just web-searching because I have this paranoia that whatever I find online will be peddled specifically to tourists, and I'm not really looking for tourist traps necessarily, although it may be a good idea to have a broad range of things so I have a reason to leave my room. >_>
