Personality: Ashley is not a typical girl; she was raised in a different world and was placed in danger a lot as a child but as a result she became tough as nails and learned to accept the impossible. Ashley likes her guns and weapons, prefers black leather and combats and rarely dates. She prefers comfortable clothes over style and accepted long ago the dangers of her job. Ashley has a rather uncanny ability to make friends with people from the darker side of society which is a contrast to Ashley’s normal social life; as Ashley spends most of her time working for the Sanctuary it leaves her little time for a social life and when she isn't working she spends time on Facebook. Ashley’s friends with the shadier side of society are often used as contacts for the Sanctuary wherein she trades information, most notably about the Cabal, or buys new weapons. Inside the Sanctuary Ashley is close friends with Henry Foss, a man whom her mother brought into the Sanctuary from childhood, and a Big Foot who is fondly nicknamed ‘Big Guy’. After Will Zimmerman joins the team, Ashley learns that she can trust him and builds up a friendship with him, finding his insights helpful for the job, though she'll often spend her time teasing him as well.
Ashley inherited her father’s killer instinct which helps in her work for the Sanctuary; she is a skilled hunter and self proclaimed expert when it comes to tracking and capturing abnormals and is proficient in the use of advanced weaponry and technology. Due to her killer instinct, however, Ashley lacks certain behavioural skills including modesty. She's a strong person, mentally and physically, but like anyone else she is prone to moments of weakness, though she covers these with bravado and fearlessness. Ashley is someone who knows what she wants and often uses her lack of modesty to help her get it. Her fearlessness can often get her into trouble, but her skills, and her mother, help her get back out of it.
Ashley grew up in the Sanctuary and is very close to her mother, though frequently their opinions on abnormals and their treatments will differ. Ashley is very much a 'save the whales' person, wanting to protect most abnormals, for example the Nubbins, but has a natural distrust of most other abnormals and she will not hesitate to terminate any abnormal which proves to be hostile. Ashley uses her skills in fighting well and will use any means necessary in order to capture targets. Despite being close to her mother Ashley was hurt when she found out that her mother had lied to her about her father being dead, though what hurt the most was not finding out that her father was alive but that the information had not come from her mother.
OOC Act: Ashley doesn't readily show weakness, covering it with fearlessness and fight should it ever appear. Ashley's also not one to talk about herself or her feelings and keeps herself very locked away. She's also not a typical girl and fights the idea of being such - dating and anything associated with being "girly" is not something that Ashley particularly goes towards or aspires to.

Ashley was conceived in the late 1800s though she was cryogenically frozen for a century, finally being brought to term in 1986. Ashley was born in America to Helen Magnus and was lead to believe that her father, John Druitt, was dead until a few weeks ago. Being raised in the Sanctuary helped Ashley to quickly become accustomed to abnormals and that part of the world. Her first experience with an abnormal wasn’t until the age of five and unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant experience for Ashley either.
As Ashley grew up she was allowed to venture throughout the Sanctuary more frequently and after a certain age she could do so alone. The Housekeeper, a Big Foot, often helped Ashley and she learned to see the nicer side of abnormals. Her mother taught her the history that she knew and how she had become involved in the Sanctuary which helped Ashley to learn about her mother's work and to understand and to lose her fear surrounding abnormals.
At around the age of eight Ashley’s mother brought a special abnormal into the Sanctuary; a child whom she named Henry after rescuing him after he'd been abandoned by his family (a group of hyperaccelerated proteans - werewolves). Ashley and Henry, being of a similar age, became close friends through growing up together which caused Ashley to think of him more as a brother than anything else.
Turning eighteen unlocked more of the world for Ashley and allowed her to aide her mother's work in a new aspect. Her first major encounter involved capturing a group of werewolves on her eighteenth birthday. Since then Ashley has had extensive training in the use of various weaponry, including those created by Henry, and has learned more about abnormals. Ashley's role in the Sanctuary is a more simplistic one but very important nonetheless; whilst Helen researches the abnormals Ashley goes out to ‘bag’ them, often with her mother’s help if faced with a larger group or a more dangerous abnormal.
Now 23 Ashley has spent most of her life in the Sanctuary aiding her mother’s work and research, though she is in the midst of discovering that an already dangerous world is about to become even more deadly. Ashley was first introduced to, now colleague, Will Zimmerman when her mother brought him in to the Sanctuary in hopes of him joining their work. At first Ashley was weary of Will though after he saved her life she was glad that he was there and truly hoped that he would stay.
Whilst in Scotland Ashley, Helen and Will ‘stole’ three women from a crypt that they later learned to be witches - the Morrigan. During the protection of the witches, the Sanctuary was attacked by a group known as the Cabal. Although the Morrigan left of their own will this act placed the Sanctuary further onto the Cabal's radar and it was far from the last time that they'd meet again.
Ashley brought the Sanctuary into its own trouble after bringing in a group of abnormals that Ashley affectionately named ‘Nubbins’. They were soon faced with a population problem, however, as the Nubbins bred with large litters. This proved dangerous to the Sanctuary after the Nubbins escaped from their habitat and began to quickly overrun the Sanctuary. Ashley’s interests in saving both the Sanctuary and the Nubbins were conflicted when the only option for saving the Sanctuary was to exterminate the Nubbins, a notion that Ashley was very much against. In the end they managed to save both the Sanctuary and the Nubbins, using a variant technique to manage their population - something that Ashley was relieved about.
Ashley's care extends deeply into her family also and when Henry is faced with a crisis over who he is, after the change of him becoming a werewolf begins to scare him, Ashley goes to talk to him, to try and make him see that who he is becoming isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Henry rejects her notion that this change is good, that they’ve both seen the bad side of abnormals but Ashley counters that, reminding him that they’ve also both seen the wonders; that they don’t know what this could be. Henry isn’t willing to believe Ashley but she isn’t ready to give up on him either and, when he later changes his mind, it's something that she's deeply glad to know.
During an encounter in a warehouse, Ashley finds herself feeling uncomfortable and having to manage between her job and controlling the attentions of a young cameraman. Ashley, her mother, Will and Henry have to battle between trying to capture an abnormal whilst keeping a reporter and her cameraman safe from an attack by the abnormal. After being asked out on a date Ashley finds herself feeling uncomfortable, mostly due to the absence of a life or friends outside of the Sanctuary and her lack of experience in dating. She offers a rain check due to having plans for his suggested day however Ashley doesn’t manage to go on her date as the abnormal kills the young man before it is captured.
Whilst her mother is in Rome Ashley is kidnapped by a man named John Druitt who she later discovers is her father. Instead of killing her like she dares him to do Druitt informs her that one of the original members of the Five, a group in which her parents started, is attempting to kill her mother in a bid to resurrect the vampires and create his own army. Ashley is reluctant to believe him but puts her doubts and confusion at him aside to save her mother. Whilst back at the Sanctuary, Ashley attempts to understand and come to terms with Druitt being her father, angry at her mother for that fact that the knowledge didn’t come from her. This puts a strain on the relationship between Ashley and her mother despite the fact that Ashley understands why her mother did what she did. The knowledge of her father hurt Ashley a lot deeper than she'd admit to and, ultimately, she needs time to accept this fact.
When the wife of a friend of Will’s asks him to look into her husband’s disappearance they discover that the Cabal are behind the kidnapping. The Cabal have been turning humans into aggressive abnormals in an attempt to understand them and use them for what they need. Unfortunately this knowledge comes at a price to the Sanctuary as it comes from Ashley’s grandfather who once created a similar abnormal to this over a century ago. After saving Will with loaded gun they manage to find a cure for Will and the other “super abnormals”, turning them back to humans. Her mother confides that she doubts that the Cabal will stop whatever they are doing but is pleased that they no longer have that knowledge.
After an attack on an abnormal on the Yukon/Alaska border the Sanctuary learns from an old friend - James Watson - about a new bioweapon that the Cabal have created and plan to use on all abnormals. Fearing the words Helen and James plan to call together the Five to gather the cure - a vial of pure vampire blood - against the attack. Ashley offers, with the aid of Henry, to infiltrate the Cabal’s weapons factory and, after managing to persuade her mother, Ashley leads Henry into the Cabal’s stronghold, however they don’t manage to get far. ( This is where Ashley would come to the game )
Abilities / Powers: Although dormant in her DNA Ashley inherited her father’s abnormality of teleportation. When used Ashley would be able to teleport across near-infinite distances around the world. Ashley is also a skilled fighter with a natural killer instinct which has proven useful for her work in the Sanctuary. She is trained in the use of many weapons but most notably uses guns and hand to hand combat.

I'm Ashley, I like my guns, I like my bike and I like my job and I'd like to get back to doing it because you know those really, really nasty creatures that you see in movies? Sample RP:Staying at Eric's had been different and although she hadn't had a time frame in mind when she'd asked to stay Ashley was glad that it wasn't permanent. It was a good kind of different but she was glad to be going home; since hearing that her mom had died Ashley hadn't been to the Sanctuary. It was home but every part of it was her mom's heart and soul and that wasn't something that she could go in to, not yet anyway. She'd left, not telling anyone where she was going and had ended up on Eric's doorstep and now, thanks to Shawn, she was stood on her own. It would have been quicker, and easier, to teleport but she'd needed the time that walking gave her. Her mom was alive; the person that she'd never thought she'd lose, the person that she had lost was alive. And damn if it wasn't the best thing she'd heard since arriving here.
Taking a breath Ashley hesitantly let herself inside. She didn't call out to find her, a little fearful of this being part of her imagination. Instead Ashley walked the Sanctuary's halls, checking the places that her mom was mostly likely to be; first step? Her office.
Ashley was stunned when she saw her, thankful that this wasn't her imagination but still a little surprised that it was real. She gave a small smile, frozen to the spot in awe. Shawn hadn't been lying and it was a damn good job that he wasn't either. It had taken her a while to believe him but it really was true; she was alive. "Mom." Finding her feet Ashley moved round to her, not pausing before tightly hugging her. "You are not doing that again." She didn't let her mom speak, not wanting - or needing - to know what she was going to say. Everything else could wait; her mother was alive, that was all that she needed.
In Game Sample: This wasn't right. It shouldn't have been right or possible. Okay possible she could go with but how the hell could the Cabal have pulled this off? They didn't have anything like this that they knew of, though they didn't know much, and then that guy... too weird and Ashley was an expert on weird. She'd been pushed out to the town square after meeting... West, who knew, though she hadn't really listened to half of what he'd said. She'd caught the part about not being real and that stung. What had happened lately didn't help and now she was stuck. And where the hell was Henry?
She'd checked for her gun as soon as she'd had a moment to think and hated that it wasn't there. Either the Cabal or coming here had taken it from her and that shouldn't have been possible either. Henry's disappearance didn't help and her mom would be looking for the source blood now. Oh just peachy. Real peachy. She wasn't planning on standing around though and walked, looking for the first place or person that seemed normal. This was going to take a while.
