Shoes

Okay, so it's a competition between Facebook and LiveJournal to see which one's smarter...

If money's no object (not much of an object?) and I want to buy men's dress shoes that look good, are comfortable, and will not exacerbate my hip and lower back problems (and might even help to improve them), where should I go?

Hard to answer without knowing about your hip and lower back problems. But I'm guessing that if you actually needed unusual shoes you'd have someone prescribing them, so...

In my experience really well-made men's shoes are much, much more comfortable than "regular" ones. Every time I've gone up a notch, it's been to something I was happier to stand and walk in. And better shoes tend to last longer, so as long as you take care of them they're no more expensive.

So...with all that run up, I have settled on Allen Edmond's for dress shoes. I get them at Top Shelf, but I think they may also carry them at Nordstrom's. Mostly they run $200-$300 a pair. The designs are fairly straight up the middle, so I use other brands for funky shoes, but you asked for dress shoes :).

Thanks for the suggestion. They certainly look good on their website. I'll check them out.

Ecco!

I've heard them raved about and, having found a second hand pair, I don't think I'll wear a different brand.
