Hello (again) from Singapore!

Sep 02, 2024 00:32

The day did not start early, the day started normal. Walked Frankie, double checked my bags, and I went on to the airport. Had breakfast at the airport, and OMG this is the first time I had the Cinnamon Danish from Starbucks and it is DELICIOUS! IKEA Cinnamon Rolls have the stand aside, LOL. Because it's a Danish, it's flakey with a slight crisp. I ( Read more... )

It's a Hindu temple.

It's awesome that you were in Singapore! I'd like to visit again someday.

How long have you been using the Hobonichi Techo and which ones do you use? I know people love them and I caved last year and ordered a Hobonich Weeks Mega because I love the bright pink color, but I already use different planners and didn't end up using my Weeks at all... I used to use it for some note-taking, but that didn't last long. I feel like maybe I should try harder to scrapbook and Hobonichi looks neat and has quite the following, but I'm not sure Hobonichi is worth the hype for me. I don't like thin pages and the Weeks is too narrow. What do you like about Hobonichi?

I’ve been using hobonich since 2017 or 2018. In the first year, I did the one themed drawing a day and did it for the year on the A6.

The following year I bought a nice A5 cover and use it for my office work

Because now they have the Day-free, I use the Day-free in A5 for work and for the everyday carry I have a weeks mega (ordered the sushi themed one). I’ll admit I don’t use the weeks much, but if I don’t have pen and paper in my bag, that’s when I need pen and paper 🤣🤣

That's a long time!

How did you choose the themes?

I think the A6 ones are really cute (as are some of the Weeks covers) and I like the idea of the day-free one, but in the end it'd be another expensive notebook that I don't need lol

The themes were easy, there’s a group on IG that would put out monthly themes. I don’t know if they are still going on now though (I haven’t done them anymore) but you can check out #hobonichichallenge on IG

Indeed, I admit there was a year or two where I went totally overboard with buying the Hobonichi but now I’ve got a good “groove” going. My set up will now be:

- 2x A6 day frees from before in 1 cover (so the calendars are not of the current year) for work tasks and notes.
- 2x A5 day frees (current year) in 1 cover for task progress tracking and meeting notes
- 1x Weeks Mega for EDC (every day carry)

The day frees are half size of the regular Hobonichi, that’s why I take 2 of them and put in the same cover. That also helps for me to separate, one book for my “official” work and the other book for my “other” work.

I heard about the Hobonichi drama from the planner Facebook groups I'm in! I haven't used the brand in a couple of years (I prefer weekly layouts but the Weeks isn't big enough), but I usually bought through JetPens because it was always such a pain trying to buy direct from Hobonichi.
