What flavor 冰棒 did you get? I feel like the classic Taiwan flavor should be 芋頭, but 花生 is also a bit unusual for western taste too. I haven't seen so much durian icecream here, i think it is a bit more popular in China.

I should go to this glasses place. My current lenses are all scratched up and i really need a new pair, but i keep not going because i'm convinced it will take hours out of my weekend.

The first one in the thermal valley as a lime flavor which I regretted. Maybe they did it in a very natural way, so used a lot of rind, so it was actually a bit bitter. And then the dog head one was a chocolate.

The 2 I like to go to in Taiwan are JINS (trademarked as “J!NS”) and Owndays. Both can update your prescription to your current glass frames but might as well get new frames if yours are a bit beat up. They do the whole eye check thing (15mins top) and I was so proud to have done that all in Mandarin. And then for the lens itself, with the basic lens and the “blue light” lens (for people who watch a lot of TV or have to look at screens/monitors/phones a lot) it’s usually same-day, say around 20-30 mins. If you choose a special lens such as those that darken in the sun, or some other special material like no-scratch, or colored lens such as sunglasses, then those need to special order and may need a week.

What a busy day. So many beautiful places, I wish I could visit Beitou one day.
I love how food is served looking pretty.
