Friday Five and TGIF

1. What is the worst experience you've had with a person on LiveJournal?
So, I think this person and I have unfriended already, I think. But it wasn't this person's problem. So one time this person posted something (I don't really remember about what, maybe a pet passing away or something), so I just comment about my two cents. I think I gave some sort of condolence about the pet not being in pain (I guess, the usual thing you say?). Certainly this other person comes bashing about whatnot. Honestly, I really don't remember what it was. Later, the original poster sends me a PM apologizing, apparently that's the brother/sister who just randomly lashes out at people sometimes. Whatever. It was weird. But other than that, my time at LJ has been pretty good.

2. What is the best experience you've had with a person on LiveJournal?
I've come to know quite a bit of interesting people. There's samedi who was either my first friend or one of my first friends, from even before LJ times (I think we were Diaryland buddies back then), I sent him a (probably fake) jade snake or some animal from the Chinese horoscope... that year his sign needed a snake or something, so I sent him one for fun and cultural exchange, haha. The longest person I've known on LJ that's still active to date is kurikuribebi, I already don't remember how we met. Then there's meerkat77 with whom I sometimes exchange travel postcards.

3. Have you made any new friends via LiveJournal?
I consider a lot of people I've met on LJ as friends. Of course there are some people whom we don't quite click, but there are also those that I have a little more interaction with (be that because they are more active, or the things they write about click more, etc) so there are some that I know better than others..

4. Have you lost friends via LiveJournal (e.g., fighting, gossip)?
I don't think so, other than a few people who finally decided that "we don't click" and thus unfriended. So it's not like I've lost friends due to big fights on LJ or whatnot. I hardly have IRL friends on LJ.

5. Has one of your friends joined LiveJournal because you mentioned you were here or because you invited them to the site?
I think my sister had a stint on LJ for a bit. I think her username is kikakat. Another friend whom I know has an LJ but right now I don't remember her username, and I'm not linking her either because I know she likes to stay under the radar. I also don't remember if someone invited me to LJ or I waited out until they ceased the invite-only thing.

Off-topic-wise...
Before LJ, I had a Diaryland, worked on a fan website through Pita, tried out the Xanga, hated the MSN Spaces, got the LJ, had a fling with Blogger, had some other journal that used the LJ code (I really don't remember the name, deadjournal? or something), spent a lot of time on Wordpress, then decided to come back to LJ. Still have an Ameblo, trying to understand Tumblr, but I'm not budging from LJ.

Yay, thefridayfive done, this week the questions are interesting.

Being lazy and combining my regular post into the FF post...

I woke up to a very scratch throat today. I wanted to call in sick, as I know I should get every bit of rest before Sunday, the Walk-for-a-Milion... but I had to go in to work before 10am today, so that I can make an international telephone call to some guy in Nevada US... for my boss. So this Nevada guy states his working hours are from 9am to 6pm Monday through Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Friday. Before 10am here today, it's supposed to be before 5pm Thursday Nevada time. Bloody guy closed shop early. My colleague who spent some time in the US said "ah, after Halloween, everyone is in a holiday mood in the US, maybe they closed early for shopping".

That means, I either have to stay up till 2am my time to make a 9am Friday call to the Nevada guy, or wake up 6am my time to makethe 4pm Friday call to him. That is, if he is actually working.

So I had to come in to work. By the afternoon, my throat was busted, it was so scratchy, it hurt to swallow... so after an all-important meeting, I just went to the doctor.

Of course, these are not miracle pills, I know, but I've taken the first dose and I'm still feeling shitty. Back in the office, my boss told me to just go home, but I still had so much to do... had to get the minutes done, the boss signed some stuff in the morning that I had to scan and file and archive and dispatch back to relevant parties... had to set up a few more meetings (coordinating meetings with people on a different email domain is a pain as you can't reference their availability on the calendar. That's one thing I like about MS Outlook within a company. Booked a lunch next week, arranged car and transport for the boss on Sunday, dispatched presentations to people who asked for it, did a par stock check of stuff in the pantry, stationary room, and copier room...

Before I left, my colleague-friend came over to talk more about her situation. Everyone is concerned about her. I really hope she can come to some kind of resolution soon. It's not healthy for her to be in such a down mood constantly. Love really does make one blind, I suppose. I'm glad I haven't been hit with that.

Oh, lookie, I always thought my silly dog didn't know how to eat a bone. TODAY it looks like he's learning to be a dog!
