Some Stupid Scientist
"A f-fellow scientist is appreciated here."
Canon: Original Character
First met: July 16th 2011
Robert is the first person that Eggman met in Luceti and the person who explained the basic situation to him. For this, Eggman should be grateful but in all honesty, the Doctor doesn't really show appreciation for Robert's help, at least
not in an obvious way. Still, Eggman insisted on keeping in contact with Professor Hastings, which must prove something.
Although Eggman finds it irritating when Robert criticises his methods, ethics or desire for world domination, he appreciates the fact that the other scientist is still willing to work with him despite disagreeing with him on many
levels. Also, the Doctor enjoys arguing with the Professor on some level, since he loves the opportunity to talk about his beliefs and plans with someone who's actually willing to listen to him in great detail before shooting him down.
Still, it doesn't stop Eggman getting angry with Robert after a while, but at least he knows that when Hastings starts to really annoy him he can shut the man up by threatening to crush him like a bug.
Sadly, one of the main motivations for Eggman spending time around Robert is the fact that Eggman knows he's more powerful than the little Terran. He knows he can easily overpower Robert and even push him around a little if he wants to
and this is something that isn't very common in Luceti. If there's one thing that's unbearable in this place it's the fact that no one fears him. There's also the fact that Robert is very intelligent. There's something of a lack of
intellectual types who seem to know science almost as advanced as his own here, and Eggman knows that Robert will aid him in his scientific pursuits if persuaded.
Still, Eggman knew from the beginning that he wouldn't be able to control Robert with fear alone and so he soon started putting on an air of friendliness around the Professor. He might not always be able to pick it up, but Eggman's
friendly gestures are often forced and highly exaggerated. This isn't just due to the fact that Eggman was faking the friendliness at first, but also due to the fact that Eggman simply has no people skills. He's never really had a friend
before and so he doesn't know how to deal with it when he does. Speaking of which, Eggman's gestures have started to become a little less false. Some part of him has actually started to see Robert as a friend rather than just a pawn,
although not enough for him to stop trying to use Hastings just yet.
Robert's methods are also started to rub off on Eggman. He won't exactly admit it, but Eggman has started to consider that Robert's methods might actually have some merit. Although he's been against teamwork and scientists working
together in the past, he's wondering if working together might actually be the key to getting out of this place. After all, teamwork was the only thing that could save his world in the past. Perhaps he forgot that in his struggle to rule
the world and needs reminding? Eggman is also starting to try other methods of conducting research that he might not have considered before, the mad scientist becoming more accustomed to the idea of following Robert's work ethic, though
of course with a sinister Robotnik twist to it all...

Knock-off Knucklehead
"If I find out you've hurt, or used, anyone here. I will make you regret it."

Doctor Eggman knew a Knuckles on his own world. Knuckles was his enemy, but was very gullible and open to suggestion, meaning he often made a useful tool for Eggman. However, this Knuckles isn't the same one that Eggman knew on his home
world, and thus there was confusion when the two met for the first time the day the Doctor arrived in Luceti. A notable difference is that this Knuckles is not gullible or stupid enough to be manipulated.
At first, the two
struck a somewhat wobbly truce and for a while, Eggman thought that the two might actually be able to co-operate against the Malnosso and avoid confrontation for the time being.
However, the echidna soon worked behind the
scientist's back to put him on the villain list and Eggman suspected he may have been telling other people about the man's evil deeds too. This and the fact that Knuckles seemed to be watching Eggman's journal conversations soon angered
the doctor, causing him to break their truce (albeit not to Knuckles' face) and come to hate Knuckles.
Had Knuckles not been sent home a month or so after their meeting, there is no doubt that the two would have ended up coming
to blows. Due to their short time knowing each other, Eggman doesn't really miss Knuckles - to him, this Knuckles was just a fake anyway.

Some Stupid Bird
"That makes you a villain! And I'm supposed to beat you!"
Canon: Banjo-Kazooie
First met: July 23rd 2011
Eggman has a somewhat bizarre relationship with Kazooie. The day Kazooie and Eggman met, a fight immediately broke out between the two when they realised they were a hero and villain respectively. She saw the need to defeat Eggman for no
other reason than that he was a villain and needed to be defeated. Although he doesn't understand her idea that she's a game character and he's a recurring boss, there's still that familiarity of the way things worked at home - the
villain turns up again and again to fight the hero. This familiarity makes Eggman feel a little less homesick. Eggman also sees other familiar traits in Kazooie. She reminds him quite a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog, his nemesis from back
home - not just her determination to defeat the bad guys but also her attitude and sense of humour, all those snarky comments directed at him whether they be fighting or just meeting at a party. He enjoys trading insults with the bird
when they're not busy fighting. Not only does he see Sonic in that determination and wit, but he also sees a little of himself too.
As for their little battles? The Doctor really appreciates the fact that Kazooie is so willing to fight with him. No one in Luceti really sees him as a threat and those that would fight him would most likely kill him or leave him for
dead. He feels confident fighting her and knowing that she will settle for simply defeating him and wait for him to be ready for the next "boss fight". No doubt Kazooie gets some satisfaction knowing she's defeated him, and he gets to
keep feeling like he can work towards defeating a rival, even if he can't defeat the Malnosso just yet.
Outside of hurling punches and insults at Kazooie, Eggman actually finds her quite likeable - though he's not very likely to admit that. The two can actually have enjoyable conversations when they want to. Also, Eggman likes the fact
that Kazooie seems to understand him and who he is. When he's been at the lowest of the lows, depressed and somewhat disconnected from his identity, she's helped him remember who he is and motivate himself to keep on fighting. If Eggman
ever found Kazooie in the same state, he'd probably do the same for her too.
When they're not fighting each other, Eggman and Kazooie actually make quite the fighting team themselves. Eggman-Kazooie, if you will. If Eggman is ever forced to ally himself with someone else to fight a foe such as the Third
Party, the first person he'll think of will always be Kazooie. He's even respected Kazooie's abilities enough to design a weapon or two that requires her help to operate, such as his egg-cannon that was designed to be loaded with her
grenade eggs.
All-in-all, Eggman doesn't consider Kazooie to be his sworn enemy, although perhaps sometimes he will call her that. If anything, the two are friendly rivals and she's someone that Eggman can have fun with. In fact, if it weren't for
their statuses as hero and villain, the two would probably become good friends. Or perhaps they already have and neither will admit it?

Mmm, Donuts... *drool*
"TRADE POPCORN FOR A DONUT ARE YOU CRAZY!?"
Canon: Trigun
First met: August 30th 2011
Eggman doesn't know Vash all that well. In fact, he still thinks that Vash's name is actually
Charlie, because that's what he was introduced as and Eggman hasn't bothered to poke about
the journal to find out otherwise just yet. He's not really at all sure what to make of Vash,
and the two don't immediately seem to have anything in common except for the fact that they
both love food so much, especially the donuts.
Eggman figures that Vash is probably some kind of fighting hero-type despite Vash's claims
that he hates violence. As such, he's wary about mentioning his plans of world domination
around Vash, although knowing the scientist he's probably slipped up. Instead he tries to
paint himself as a simple roboticist and will try and deflect the subject to food when too
many questions are asked. Vash is probably completely aware of what Eggman is,
though.
Eggman isn't really too interested in pursuing friendship with Vash, but the two are probably
going to bump into each other much more and when they do, Eggman won't hesitate to challenge
the guy to another eating contest.
