so I just read this post, and I have to say that I'm proud of you! I feel a bit silly saying that, but I think it's a great thing when someone finally steps out of a shadow they've been living under for a long time. I think the attempts and inner arguments against being gay (the sports/fashion/etc) are just a part of the process of coming to terms with your identity, so I'm glad that you've managed to power through that, accept yourself, and just be happy!

and I mean really, fuck anyone who thinks differently of you now. it's none of their damn business anyway. I think that you'll be surprised (or maybe not!) at the level of support that you'll get from people in general though. I can't see anyone we're mutually friends with at UNC giving you grief about it.

anyway, I hope things continue to get better as you become more comfortable with stuff! send me a message on AIM if you ever need to talk about whatever.

I agree with whoever posted before me.
I lived an entire year with a girl who was homosexual and was terrified to tell her family and a huge number of her friends about who she was...and she was, and is, a miserable person.

I'm proud of you for having the courage to come out, even to just a few people. You should know well that, even though we don't talk often (and I promise I'm going to call you back, we needed to talk anyway) that I support you and I'm here for you regardless.

Wish you'd update your journal more. I only met you once, and you might not even remember that now. I liked this entry, it's refreshing to reach a point in your life where you accept things rather than being frustrated over them. Even though it was almost a year ago, I hope things are going well.
