[When he wakes, he's confused-- mostly because of the ghost pain he can't feel anymore behind his left shoulder. His brows furrow as he sits up.

Everyone gone or dead... He had always just assumed this place was eternal. Worlds kept going, even as people died away and disappeared. They motored on as though nothing had happened, heedless of who its populace was made of-- almost like a machine. Still, he paused to pick the journal up from where it had been discarded on the bed beside him, flipping to the bookmark he'd left, and--

Yep. Still working. It was kind of stupid to think it wouldn't've have been, but he'd blame being half asleep. He lay back, arms folding behind his head a she thought.

Maybe some people really were thinking ahead to a future outside or away from this place. That was strange to him.]

[The sudden attack jolts Souji to wakefulness, and leaves him contemplating the strange dream he's had of his... friend? Ally? He's not really sure, any more. And he's not sure if this is his dream, or Rain's - though, given the perspective, Rain seems more likely. He doesn't often dream of following other people around.

Alone in this place... the thought passes through Souji's mind as he slips of back to sleep.]

[Cloud awakens with a jolt, breathing fast and shallow into the darkness. As the sense of pain and failure fades, his first real conscious thought is he's glad he uses a futon rather than one of those beds that sit high off the ground--he would have fallen out of one of those tonight, and it probably wouldn't have been the first time, considering some of the other dreams he's had over the past few days.

Seeing Edensphere in ruins like that... he wasn't sure it if it was comforting or terrifying. As much as he hated this place, and the things it did to people... it was all he had. All any of them had. And... where had everyone gone? Where they all home, all dead, what?

He realized it was just a dream, but as with many of the dreams, it had felt so real. It was difficult to shake off the feeling and the questions, though the fact that he was exhausted helped.]
