Trast got shoved into the concrete today from behind by a kid on the playground. I spent the evening in the ER getting him CAT scanned for possible bone fractures since his eye is swollen shut and nasty looking. I'm so sorry to hear that. Kids can be pretty awful. Trast is holding up okay though? What is the school like in general? Is there much teasing/meanness? Have you been happy with the way the teachers and admin. handle these incidents?

There is a lot of meanness, but he has said to me in the past that he doesn't mind. This is the first time the administration has had to get involved. We'll see how it goes.

Poor trast. Nikol, don't give up on other kids. He may not have found his niche yet. I was picked on viciously by kids until high school. The other kid should get expelled. That violent in third grade! Raise Hell until the kid is punished!

You should tell Trast to try and be especially nice to anyone who picks on him. Maybe the kids don't know what friendliness looks like. Perhaps Trast could show them.
