Then his eyes flew open suddenly, showing that they now glowed blue, and though there was still no breath or pulse, Batboy let out a terrible shriek and leaped up, grabbing at Persephone's throat.

When his eyes opened so suddenly, Persephone gasped and her own eyes narrowed in response. After being queen of the underworld for so long, she knew that there was something wrong with this corpse. When there was the hand towards her throat, Persephone quickly shoved at him, her movements sending her warden item skidding to the far corner of the room. Without that, she wouldn't be able to get out of the cell either.

[She managed to shove him back, but climbing to his feet and getting into a better position, he dove at her again, teeth first this time.]

When he dove at her, quickly her hand extended, and lengthy thorny vines started to wrap around him, trying to restrain him to stop where he was coming for her. "Edgar. No! You do not need to make this choice!"

He struggled against the vines for a moment, which pierced his skin slightly and made him angrier, then concentrated on making the vines rot. "I've already made my choice," he said, his voice now having a strange echo to it.

When he made the vines riot, Persephone stared at him for a long moment. She tried again, making the vines sturdier and tighter, trying to contain him until someone came back. Persephone knew that she needed to get her warden item so she could get out of the cell. "You have decided you're an animal then?"

"I have always been an animal. Now I'm something new." He then made the temperature of the room drop, even though it was already cold, to keep her plants from growing back. As he did this, he made the plants that held him shrivel and rot. It took longer this time, but he could do it.

"You have no always been an animal! Were you an animal when you loved Shelly?" She shivered when the room turned colder, and she tried the vines again. This was going to be getting bad. "Edgar, you need to stop."

"Of course. I was weak, but now all my emotions that were holding me back are burnt away."

There was still some emotion inside of him, but it was dulled and darkened. He leaped quickly, attempting to sink his fangs into her neck before the vines reached him.

Persephone tried to dart away from the sharp quick movements of the vampire before her. "Edgar, you did this so that you would not hurt people! Stop!"

"My reasons don't matter anymore. I'm a new person now." And then he grabbed her, moving to sink his fangs into her throat and rip it out. His loss of hunger was valid, however, as he no longer wanted to drink her blood, but merely spill it.

Persephone screamed when he ripped her throat out, and the goddess became dimly aware of pain as the blood sprayed over the area. She was not meant to die, and yet she could feel her heart pumping out the blood quickly. "Edgar.." his name was mouth quickly as she could feel her heart slowing.

He then dropped the body to the ground, spitting out the blood and flesh. Then, still being innately Edgar despite the drastic change, he sang.

"Sleep child sleep,
Sleep child sleep,
The daylight is waiting
Cautiously fraying.

Sleep, sleep my Persephone,
deathly from my felony,
Sleep through the sinning
Inner evil is winning.
Sleep my child."

Then he picked up her item, unlocking the door and walking out. Then he gazed at Arthas for a long moment, and urge to let him go welling up within him, but Edgar's mind rebelled and refused.

"You lied to me." And with that, he left. He no longer cared what he became, but that didn't negate the fact that he'd been misled, and he didn't want to work with someone who could fool him so easily.

Arthas just leaned back on his cot and smirked at the ceiling.

They grow up so fast.
