I always thought that sort of serial focus wasn't a hallmark of OCD, but ADHD (Attention Variablity, not deficiency - Hyperfocus is a common effect.)

His demonstrations engender, at least in me, equal parts awe, jealousy, and doubt. Is he really doing that? I wish I could do that. (Or do I?).

More on this when I get a chance - I have a story to tell..

It's more efficient to not forget.

Plus, the sooner you get past the initial steep learning curve (mastering basics), the more rewarding the learning experience becomes.

With that said, who the hell has that much time these days to devote to anything? Unless, say, it's a marathon 48 hour session of some FPS or RTS, where you already have the basic skills, and are just learning the nuances of a new language and environment to express them in?
