Now that that's out of the way! The applet is kicking my ass, so I'll ask again here. How does the button pushing relate to attraction/friendship? Is there something about being thrown off guard that draws him out of his comfort zone and makes him think a little more about the person in question?

More seriously, I like the essay, and it makes sense. And yeah, Wolfram IS the fire-element stereotype, at least in the Western four-element system. Actually, most of the mazoku who we have elements for embody their elemental stereotypes too -- so much so that I'd be willing to make a few wagers as to elements on characters we haven't had positively identified. The only exception is Yuuri, really, and he's half-human and new to the elemental bond and has some water characteristics ANYWAY and why the fuck am *I* essaying now? It really is a disease...
