[ When Komachi hears Eiki's voice crackle over the radio, she thinks it to be a simple daydream at first. But it persists, and persists, that measured tone, and that's just like her, isn't it...it sounds exactly like her. The shinigami has to face the truth, eventually. So she listens to her superior deliver her speech, an activity that she is well used to. Better get the explanation over with - at least she wasn't the guilty party this time. ]

Ah -

...Right. They got you too, huh?

Gah, I hope not. What if the milkman was right all along? The whole thing's too complicated!

When it's quiet, it's not so bad. Sometimes it's even relaxing. But once in every couple of months is when I stock up and don't go outside... [ She giggles in a facetious sort of manner. But then this is the person who thinks the worst part of the disturbing radio broadcasts is the fact they wake her up early. ]

Wait, right about what?

So when things go badly you hide inside? [Why are you so shameful Komachi?]

I dunno! That's what makes it so mysterious! No-one can get a reading off that guy. It's like he's clouded in a thick fog.

...Well. Yeah. Wh-what else can I do?

Yet the statement did imply he said something, so could you please tell me what was said.

You could be of use? In a situation like this, as we are all here equally, it would make the most sense to assist each other.

I don't think he says anything to anyone. Though, before I came here, some people told me that there's this whole thing between the Milkman and the Mayor and the policeman Grady, and the Smiths too I guess. Especially the Smiths, that...that annoying girl and her noisy phonecalls! It's really a good story, except that we're livin' in it.

I - I made a barricade! [ With her upturned boat and some pillows. ]

[The fragmentation just made her more confused and lost.]

Komachi, you are saying quite a lot, yet have said nothing of value. Please try and be detailed, pretend this is a report.

I suppose that's a start....

Sorry...I'll try and be more careful. [ She'll try. But a report? This sounds a lot like work. ]

The Mayor runs this place, and Officer Grady is his second-in-command. If you do something wrong they'll drone you. Or even if you don't! There's no way out of this town, it loops in on itself, so walking's useless. [ Though she's never tried extensively walking to and fro trying to get out. Too much effort. ] But there's this drone family, the Smiths, who seem pretty standard at first, and boring, you know. But the daughter is actually behind everything, I can just feel it. She's always broadcasting crazy stuff to the town. And the son is the one who shot me, haha. The mother sometimes remembers who she really is, someone named Samantha. I don't know too much about it, but there was a place called 'Westport'...

[She still had questions, but this at least gave a bit of a foundation to everything else said.]

At least those in charge are known, that makes some things a lot easier. Komachi, I'm going to ask you to do something. From now on, can you write things down you come across?

Eh? Write things down? Do you mean...everything? [ This definitely sounds like work. ]

Everything worth noting. Why not keep a journal of some sort, and simply write noteworthy things in it when they happen? I'll do the same, and we can compare notes. This will make storing, keeping and passing on information when needed easier.

Alright...I'll do that, seriously, if anything interesting happens. Most of the time things are pretty normal here, so it might not be as useful.

Any record can be useful, even if there is only reason to add to it every once in a while.

Then I will, I promise!

[ Oh dear. Prepare for a log full of long-winded conversations with no relevant info coming Eiki's way soon. ]

Thank you. I know you can do it when you put your mind to it.

[She will just go through it and weed out the irrelevant stuff, a lot of useless information with a few bits of useful was better than no information at all.]
