Arthur couldn't help but laugh. "Molly always used to say the same - she used to move about a lot in her sleep." He fell into silence then, but the half-smile on his face suggested that he was not upset by the memory. "If it's any consolation, you'll get used to it. By the time she had Charlie she was sleeping on her side out of habit."

Tilting his head in concern, Arthur said, "If it's not rude of me to ask, have you had much morning sickness? Molly used to have it something terrible."

Susan relaxed a little. Learning information from books was all well and fine, but getting information from a person was completely different. Perhaps what it all came down to was that Susan really wished that her own mum was around to give advice.

"It's mostly gone away, I think. I wasn't well after we returned on the portkey from Le-- when we came home. But I don't know what sort of things are expected with magical travel and this kind of thing."

Susan crossed her feet at the ankles and then uncrossed them, thinking about what she really wanted to know and how best to ask.

Then the question just sort of came out.

"Were you frightened?"

"I have never been more terrified," he admitted, running his hand over his shaved head. "I'm not sure what was more terrifying - the moment Molly told me she was pregnant...the first time, I mean...or the point at which she started to go into labour."

He rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, that was pretty damn scary all seven times," he added, and smiled apologetically. "I don't mean to scare you by saying this," Arthur said. "But it's something you'll have to get used to - and it's perfectly normal. At least that's what I used to tell Molly when she was screaming profanities at me."

He grinned helplessly. "I don't really think it helped."

"I am under the impression that everything is 'normal' but it doesn't exactly feel normal... And I can't stop eating apples." She pulled a face briefly.

Susan shook her head amusedly at the thought that anyone could scream profanities at him. But then she had no idea what anything was going to be like. It was comforting to know that he'd been scared too.

Especially since, like her and Terry were now doing, he brought a whole family into an uncertain world.

"I hope you won't mind, but I might have to come to you for much more advice in the future. You're the only one here who has done this before and I think I might have many more questions pop up."

She blushed. "Not every question, I should think, but a good deal of them you'd probably be able to help with."

"Oh, I am more than happy to offer you the advice Molly and I didn't get," he said, with a laugh. "Use me as your font for information as you wish, though I assure you it will be hard to look at my children again once you have heard about some of their antics in their youth. Especially Bill," he said, tapping his nose knowingly. "There's someting about being the eldest that makes children think they can get away with things they shouldn't do."

He folded his hands in his lap. "Of course that's not something you have to worry about for a good while," he said, smiling. "Whatever you or Terry need, I am here..." he waved his hand about aimlessly, indicating the room, "most of the time."
