Why can't I make Indian food? I can do practically anything else - "American", Italian, Polish, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, baked goods, etc - but I just can't manage a decent curry

Oh, I dunno. Travelling the world, being in the Peace Corps, having some kind of spiritual journey, publishing a book, having some kind of accomplished career, dumping everything to spend months volunteering in New Orleans (as a friend of mine did)...... that kind of thing.
You know, though..... probably a lot of the people that say insightful things don't actually have those experiences, and just think and talk about philosophy/spirituality/generally insightful/interesting things more often. :)
I think the majority of the people on my flist all think that other people have more interesting lives, when that's probably not true fair percentage of the time. =P
Hi -- hope you don't mind my adding you to my friends list. I got here by way of Outpost Gallifrey, where I noticed you said sane things in a few contentious threads (I mostly lurk there, and do a lot more writing on Livejournal). I'm interested in reading more by anyone who agrees with me about Lungbarrow :).
