I blinked my eyes open slowly and curled further into the warm body wrapped tight around my own, a contented "Mm" escaping my lips. Fingers curled tight underneath my shirt before relaxing again as the chest behind me vibrated along with the softly growled "Morning." I turned to lie on my back, my face tilted towards the stubble covered one next to me, and gently kissing the pale lips. "Not morning, storming." I replied, grinning. Joe smiled lazily back at me and we lay like that for a while, our eyes slipping closed again as we listened to the heavy falls of the rain, the occasional car passing by on the road just outside our window and its accompanying swoosh. We must have dozed off because soon Joe's iPod alarm was sounding with the loud intro to Hanson's Mmbop. I felt Joe reach over me blearily to slam his hand around on the bedside table, trying to find the snooze button. Joe swore, realizing we were snuggled into the wall on the wrong side of the bed for him to reach the table, and began to climb over me, brushing my hair out of my face to place a chaste kiss on my forehead as he passed. I smiled slightly, my eyes opening a crack as I burrowed into the warmth Joe had left, watching as he pulled on some sweat pants and a red flannel shirt after turning the alarm off. He left the room and a few seconds later I heard the sound of the toilet flushing, quiet beneath the still-raging storm outside. My eyes slipped shut again, only to have them snap open a minute later when the smell of fresh coffee accompanied the shuffle of Joe's pants in the doorway. I smiled at my lover and pulled myself up into a sitting position, the multitudes of blankets covering me falling about my waist. Joe handed me both mugs before climbing back into the bed, not bothering to remove his shirt or sweats again. We got comfortable and I handed Joe his mug, gazing at the window and watching the rain cascading down the glass. Joe curled his arm around my shoulders, pulling me in close, and kissed my shoulder, murmuring.

"I love you."
