The Rockets were defeated! Peace has returned to the pokemon world! ...except not. While you both did a good job of kicking them in the face and making a dent, it didn't mean they'd be gone forever. But Atem knew it wouldn't really end with them. And besides, it's taking them a very long while to build up their forces again. So he's ready for some

The message that came later, delivered by a Pidgey who took great pleasure in fluttering about the brunet's head, was alternatively a relief and infuriating. Atem had bothered to contact him. But he ( ... )

And now he was only too sure he was going to die. Every beat of his heart sent the poison coursing further through him. His veins were burning inside. He couldn't see much-
But Kaiba's voice caused him to try and tilt his head in the appropriate direction. Didn't that man ever listen?
The kid didn't have much time to react, either. And he certainly wouldn't be able to see the 'taste of your own medicine' aspect of this situation when he was being blasted off his feet and into a tree. Atem's belt and pokedex were dropped.

"Lugia," he said, his voice now an icy fury, "wash him away. Drown him. Hydro blast." The command given, he stopped paying attention. The fool was beaten already. But Atem...
The brunet strode toward the fallen trainer, though there was a hint of urgency in his movement. "So what kind of nonsense have you gotten yourself into now?" He asked coolly. "I think I am growing tired of dragging you out of your problems."

Atem struggled as Kaiba neared, and struggled hard. He was having a problem moving, parts of his body going numb. He was at least determined to get off his hands and knees. "Poison..." The word was grated, said through clenched teeth as he turned over on his back. His eyes closed then, the already bruised and bleeding mark on his neck visible now; that of a stinger having pierced his flesh.

The shorter due-I mean Pokemon trainer followed Atem's footsteps carefully, searching for his dearest friend. One of his Pokemon, a Flaaffy, eagerly followed, also wondering where Atem was, since every Pokemon of Yugi's liked him (and every other Pokemon ever, amirite).
He thought that he heard voices, one of them definitely Atem's. Moving closer, he heard the other yell out in pain before falling to the ground. Ignoring the kid because Atem was a much higher priority, he rushed over, with his fluffy little sheep buddy right behind him. "Atem!" He kneeled down, pulling the other close. "Are you okay? What happened?" His Flaaffy nuzzled Atem's side and baa'd worriedly.
Damn it. He knew that they shouldn't have parted. Guilt forever, this is all his fault, etc.

"Yugi.." No one listened to anything, did they. He couldn't see where the kid went and that meant he still could have been hanging around. He'd be damned if he let Yugi get caught in this predicament too. "Go home." He hissed out, more in pain than upset at the other.

He only pulled Atem closer, more worried than he already was. "No. You need my help. Now tell me what happened." He was definitely worried about the other's stolen Pokemon, but he could never leave Atem out here to die. He would never forgive himself for it.
