Information was being withheld from the press- even you. That was not okay. That was not right. Some big name landed himself in the hospital and you probably only need one guess as to who that was. It might have been the cold feeling in your gut or the tightening in your chest when you finally got a phone call that lead your better sense to know ( Read more... )

I think I read this in a fanfic once. whitewizardboy June 8 2011, 00:33:23 UTC
How he got in here... was a very, very good question.

He vaguely remembered seeing this place in his dreams. Or at least he had visions of it when the Spirit was in control. There was a minute piece of his(Bakura's) spirit in the Puzzle; but with the Items gone and Atem having his own solid form separate from Yuugi, it was a little hard to imagine that a soul room like this to still exist, let alone having other people be able to... visit it.

"A-atem-san?" Ryou murmured, happy to know that he was still alive and well, but certainly not in the right place. "Where... where are we?"

He slowly got to his feet, brushing off the dust that had seemed to collect on his pants with who-knows how many months he must have been trapped there. The other was looked at in both a fond and frightened light. How was this possible?

"This is my soul room. ...how did you manage to find yourself here?"

No, just that I read a Fragileship once where Ry somehow gets into the Puzzle with Atem still in it. whitewizardboy June 8 2011, 04:21:46 UTC
"I... I don't know. One minute I was trying to wake you... the next moment, I blacked out and ended up here." He was a little frightened himself. Any time he blacked-out in the past usually spelled trouble for anyone near him. Though Bakura wasn't around anymore to haunt his life, with those three men in the suits and the living will...

"We have to get out of here. Some men are trying to pull the plug on your life-support and I don't know if we can get out if your body isn't living anymore..."

The look he was giving Ryou now was a very confused one. "Life support?" He wasn't sure what that meant. It seemed to be something dire, however, given Ryou's state.

Then again, the boy did just say he'd passed out and woken up in someone else's soul.

Kaiba's eyes were wide as he practically jumped to his feet. Nothing was making any sense anymore. Atem wouldn't know the first thing about lawyers, much less go to one for a living will. Men he didn't know were as much of an enemy as he could have found. Worst of all, he was in a place he didn't know with a familiar sense of dread growing in his stomach. He had felt similar only once before, and he was certain he didn't want to repeat the experience.

Atem's voice had him whirling on the other, his eyes still wide and staring.

"You...Where is here??" He snarled, grateful for something, anything, to take out his frustration and fear on. "Why are you here? They're going to take you off life support!"

Atem stood, not having much of a choice in the matter. Seto was here. Definitely not where he belonged. Then again, Atem didn't much belong here himself. It was nice to see the other in what had felt like weeks of being trapped here.

"Life support?" It was obvious he had little understand of what Kaiba was going on about. Though he could see the man was visibly upset. "Here is ..." How to put it to someone like Kaiba? "Inside my mind." Soul room, mind, trapped, puzzle. Who cared anymore.

Kaiba had already settled his shoulders and calmed himself, or at least put up the facade of it. Panicking wasn't going to do any good, especially if he had to be the only rational one here. With Atem's reply, that was becoming painfully clear.

"It doesn't matter where here is," he finally replied, his voice still harsh. "What matters is that you shouldn't be here. I just spent an hour trying to rouse you from a hospital bed. They will kill you in two days."

"They?" That seemed to upset him more than the news of being killed- or maybe it was that there seemed to be a realization going on behind his eyes. The room almost seemed to shift as he thought, and there was a dim light and the sound of a door creaking open very far away in the distance.

"The men in the hoods? Did you find them?" He wasn't sure that he'd been holding out for Seto to- though if anyone could, Kaiba could. It must have been how he'd gotten here too. Right?
