I don't know. I'm being taught to accept all views, and find some understanding it them...but I can't. It really bothers me too, because when someone I know holds a position I really don't agree with I start to think of them differently. I don't WANT to, but my mind works funny. Like, I'm somewhat of an environment nut (recycle, ride bike anywhere I can, volunteer at a stream clean place, etc.), and extremely prochoice...and I'm like "don't think of Rob differently right now!" Stupid brain!
The 70s especially are terrible. I can't think of a period of time I would fit in lesss.
Somebody was definitely drug induced during the 70's!
My house was built in the early 70's. After doing some renovations. I've found that my house at one time had gold yellow and bright red carpet. Olive green tile in the master bathroom, gold tile in the guest bathroom, olive green paint in the kitchen.
What i really dislike is people that choose their political affiliation based solely on one issue, ie abortion or guns. It drives me nuts they don't give any thought to any other issues.
I am REALLY behind in my LJ reading/posting, but good for you for being open minded like that. Although I will admit that I have disliked everything I've ever read/heard about Al Franken, it's just a book. It's sort of like die-hard Christians being afraid to listen to people from other religions. That just gets on my nerves. Whether it be your politics or your faith, you can still read things from other people and keep your same beliefs if you want to. And who knows? You may read something and go "Wow. I didn't think about it that way."
I also agree that the 60's/70's were a big waste. And as a woman, I get annoyed at all these gray haired bra burning hippies who want to act like that they won women's rights. Bull. Women have what they have today because of the women that worked in the factories during WWII. Of course, we really didn't have any other option because so many of the men were in the military. But that was when people started realizing that women deserved more and were equal. '

Ann Coulter? Now that's fucked up.
Back up off of the 60's, dude. Talk as much smack as you want about the 70's, but the 60's brought me David Bowie, dammit.
Also, finally, okay. I was waiting for someone to give an opinion on Dan in Real Life, and finally it has arrived. Possibly I'll purchase it now. WOO!
