The Preserve, Tuesday afternoon

After finishing up her Superhero class and talking to Captain Liberty, Will headed back into the preserve, still in her Guardian form. There was a herd of deer in there holding one of her friends captive, and she was going to rescue him no matter what, regardless of whether or not she'd picked up a deer fighting permit from the mayor. Upon finding the proper field, Will might notice the muddy foot and hoofprints leading past Valentine's rock and tree further on into the woods.
She might notice the trampled roughage and that Valentine's little stone tower had been knocked down.

She probably wouldn't, however, notice a Valentine.

Will did notice most of that and sighed. What had Valentine gotten himself into?

Deciding that she was far enough in already that going back would be pointless, Will pressed on into the forrest, following the deer tracks.

The deer tracks led up to and in to a small cave. If one listened close enough, they might hear the tired and delirious babbling of a Valentine who probably hadn't slept all night, somewhere within.

Will facepalmed at the sounds coming from the cave. That idiot was still talking, even though she'd warned him that he should stop?

She strode cautiously into the cave anyway. He was really lucky that she liked him as a friend and had a hero complex.

"Important men do not crawl," Valentine said with a sniff, staring down at the little deer. Yeah. Far too cute to punch. Not that he could, anyhow. He was sorely lacking in a deer punching license. "And Clementine is an egg. A chicken egg, I think. Perfectly edible."
Oh, hey, the deer were starting to look at him again.
Valentine decided to shut up.

Will knew that she had to do something quick if she was going to save both Valentine and his unfortunate egg-daughter.

"What if we split up the herd? Like, I start talking to draw them out, and once there's enough room for you to escape, you start babbling while heading off in the opposite direction. Once we're far enough away from the cave, we can both start running like crazy."

"Valentines are not above running like crazy," Valentine decided. If Clementine was able, she's probably be nodding in agreement. "Babble away!"

Will backed away a bit from the edge of the cave, and started babbling on and on about her family, and her interest in frogs, and why she had started collecting so many frog plushies in the first place. She slowly walked backwards as she did, hoping to draw the deer out into the clearing.
