Tony had a remarkable facility for being up and active the morning after a party. It might have been attributable to the fact that he had not ventured outside once and had thus escaped the sun, traditional scourge of the hung over, but the loud classic rock blaring in the workshop sort of ruled out the idea he had any concerns on that front ( Read more... )

"Tony?" Pepper's voice echoed down the stairwell, followed quickly by the clatter of heels. Wrapped in a thin cardigan, she paused several feet away, directly in his line of sight. "Tony," repeated with a shade more urgency. "It's snowing outside. A lot."

Had it been December, it might have been understandable, but this had come out of absolutely nowhere. One moment she'd been folding her laundry and thinking it a little chilly, the next she'd been staring out the bank of windows on the front of the house at what appeared to be the beginnings of a major snow storm.

Tony looked up and stared blankly at her for a moment.

"Jarvis, volume," he said, absently. The volume reduced slightly. "Did you say snowing? It's snowing? Outside, snow is falling from the sky?"

That would explain the chill.

"Snowing," Pepper confirmed with a knowing arch of her eyebrows. "Not a pleasant Christmas in June sprinkling, either." She sighed, tugging her cardigan closer around herself. "Could you stop whatever you're working on for a minute and come take a look, please?" Not that it would make any real difference, of course, but at least she'd know she wasn't losing her mind.

"It's kind of imp- no, I'll go look," Tony agreed, dropping what he was tinkering with onto the desk and brushing past her to bound up the stairs.

A moment later, he turned around and met her coming up.

"It's snowing," he said, as if he hadn't been informed of this mere moments ago.
