I watched Whip It yesterday and had to think of you. Is roller derby really like that? That's pretty awesome!

Derby is both kind of like Whip It and not at all like Whip It. Mostly the second part of that. Of course, the derby in the movie is banked track and MNRG is flat track (those links are just for visual examples :) you don't actually have to watch them). But in a lot of ways it is like the movie: intense, fast, crazy with intense, crazy, dedicated people.

I am going to look and see where there is derby in Germany. I'm certain there is, somewhere...
