Speaking of worry, you may or may not have seen my latest post. O'Brien lost it the other day and took a swing at Danny Archer after dinner. I really think he's getting quite frayed.

I'm sorry you worried. It's a little unnerving, not even realizing I was gone. It seems like I missed a lot.

I just saw it. I'm perfectly fine with that; I have no idea what Beatty's been up to while I was gone, but I can't imagine it's been any good for him, though I'm sure he enjoyed it. I don't think making it a little more difficult for them to meet up and encourage each other is a terrible idea. Especially if O'Brien's getting unstable.

Most notably, you missed meeting a large number of inmates as small children. O'Brien as a thirteen-year-old was particularly instructive.

He hasn't been causing an overt fuss, as far as I can tell, but he does spend plenty of time with Prefect and O'Brien. Swapping ideas about being good orthodox citizens in an unorthodox world, et cetera. On the one hand, I worry that separating them will only make O'Brien more unstable, but on the other, I'm not sure it's good for everyone for them to be hunkering down like that.

...Children? I am not sure I can even picture it. That must have been interesting. ...And probably not very helpful for his mental state.

I'm honestly just glad he didn't somehow manage to burn down the library while I was gone. But yes. If it does make things worse, let me know. We don't necessarily want them to team up and make our jobs harder, but if it keeps any of them from being unstable and dangerous, it might be the lesser evil.
