Joan's much more accustomed to making arrangements, especially of the weekend getaway kind, which is why she feels somewhat out-of-sorts when all she has to do is pack a small bag and wait for her door to appear on Friday. Of course, it makes much more sense for Harry to do things like reserve their room, being that he's familiar with the Lamplighter Inn (and for Pete's sake, Joan, she says to herself, it is his world, after all).
Fridays mean that the executives will be in the bars long before five o'clock, and most of them dismiss their girls shortly before that. Joan heads back to the apartment she shares with Carol to make sure she hasn't forgotten to pack anything she might need. Not only is she going to be in an unfamiliar place, but a whole different world altogether. It wouldn't do to forget something important, like a toothbrush.
When her door shows up, she slides her coat on and picks up her small satchel before heading on through to meet up with Harry.
She's early, as usual, so by the time his door appears, she'll be halfway through a drink, sitting at one end of the bar.
