Nikola. I'd say you're not a bastard but you kind of are.

Ohhh... where to start. We'll start with Time For Cocktails. Given we already know the tl;dr on canon. Because you and I spend hours on this.

She thought it was pretty weird of Nikola to ask her to help, especially because he normally doesn't, and it was for Howard's son. Though, she sees it as an actual real act of selflessness on Nikola's part - or as selfless as he gets. It's bumped up her respect for him, even more than him actually doing what she asked with the weapon to neutralize Ashley.

Of course there is a part of her that does love Nikola. It might be romantic, it might be platonic. Most likely platonic. She doesn't worry about it or even ponder over it. Why bother, really? Nikola and her really would never work as a couple. He hates physical contact GERMS OMFG and Helen, when she opens up, is a rather physical sort of woman. So, she settles for platonic and enjoys teasing him like a very good friend ( ... )

I apologize now for how huge this might be, and how incoherent. :|b

The Doctor. That's complicated, probably as complicated as her relationship with John. Then again all her relationships are complicated - but, really, this one is up in that special bracket. The one where Kate would probably pop off with "You two have some serious relationship issues."

First up, he fascinates her. As someone who has lived longer than her, and as a scientist. He's got two hearts, expanded ribcage, colder skin than a human, and he's Lord of Time. She's most likely seen time sensitive Abnormals before, but saying you're a Time Lord totally puts you in a new category of things she hasn't learned. But, Helen very much puts the humanity and identity of anyone first, so he becomes more fascinating as an individual rather than from a science project.

Of course in some ways she's actually absolutely terrified of being around him. Because, she wants to be open to him. She pushed her best friend, James away, and he ended up finding a way to live an extra ( ... )

Helen is special in ways that the Doctor can't describe. At all, really. He knows that for some reason, some inane reason that he can't quite figure out and quite frankly, he wants to, he wants to stay on Earth more when she's around. He wants to sit down and just have tea with Helen and watch the skies turn red and orange and violet. And part of him says that's very, very wrong, because he's the Doctor, he's supposed to be saving civilizations and rescuing planets and defeating Daleks, he's not supposed to be eating dinner with a human that is 1/9th his age. So there's that part of him that comes because oh, he wants to see Helen laugh and smile and they could have wonderful adventures together! But... there's the part of him that wants to run away and never come back because she's a human, he's not supposed to settle down, he can't, because then he's destined to lose her.

And then, sometimes, he just wants to shake her and ask what are you doing?! Like in the fic you did for prison, it was perfect, because part of him wanted to ( ... )

because if there's one thing he hates about Helen, it's the way she looks when she's sad and broken.

It's so a good thing he met her after Ashley's death. :(

But ffff these two. ♥

That one verse is amazing. Don't knock it D: And okay. Now that we apparently have additional head canon.

In an odd sort of way, Helen does see Tony as a son. In that way that she knew his father and the two were on good ground, so she feels like she should watch over Tony since Howard is gone now. Except, you know, better than Obadiah because she really could care less about running his company. That's more of a god-son I think. Interestingly enough, according to her actress, Helen gets money for the Sanctuary via stocks, so it wouldn't surprise me if she owned something in Stark Industries. True facts ( ... )

For. Real. Want a Hack/Slash movie. Liiiiiiiiike, yesterday.

I think part of the reason Cassie watches herself around Helen and whatnot is the fact that Helen is the ultimate momma bear. Having lost her mom the way she did and doing what she does, Cassie doesn't have a normal life anymore, well, normal by the world's standards. But when she is with Helen, there's just the tiniest little glimpse of what a relationship with her mom could have been. Yanno, if she hadn't snapped and started serving Cassie's classmates at the cafeteria's mystery meat.

Cassie's afraid of letting down Helen, and is torn between doing what she knows and doing what Helen suggests (a.k.a. running in like a stupid vs calling for help). In Eldo, Cassie is scared to death of telling Helen her story, about all the things she's done and killed, worried that Helen won't like her anymore.

Cassie loves her fake!mommy. And it frightens her and breaks her heart and makes her want to cry happy tears all at the same time.

El Dorado! Though, when you have more time, we should see if we can get you revved up in Time For Cocktails. Jack Harkness is joining the Sanctuary team there - Ashley + Jack = the universe explodes ( ... )

IF THAT EVER HAPPENS GAH I'D LOVE TO. ... Ashley + Jack = CAP SOME BITCHES. Just gotta say. PEW PEW PEW.~

Okay. Helen. SRS BZNS NOW.

Ashley... idolizes her mother in a way that she will never, ever admit out loud. The closest she'll ever come to it is praising the fact that Helen really knows her stuff. But inside? Ash has a big fat gold star planted on almost everything that her mom does.

They have their spats like any mother and daughter, especially since Ashley is an adult. She has that spark (read: MUSHROOM CLOUD BOOMTASTIC 'SPLOSION) of independence, but she also doesn't want to leave her mom completely, or grow away from the work her mom's had her doing for all of her life. She feels conflicted a lot of the time because of the fact that she wants to keep doing their thing, but she also wants her mom to be a little more relaxed with her rules. tl;dr I LOVE YOU, AND YOU'RE A GENIUS AND ALL, BUT LET ME DO MY SHIT.

Helen is the one person in the entire world who Ashley feels a real connection with. She cares a lot about Big Guy ( ... )
