I'm not going to bother with this silly "homecoming" event. You may have your fun, but I won't be a part of it. Thank you very much.

Also, if you're a tailor, seamstress, or anything of the like - may I have a moment of your time? I'd like to put in a request for something to be made.

Action: Around Mayfield prpl_assistant October 12 2011, 15:14:56 UTC
(Someone else is walking around Mayfield as well when she spots Miss Ethelbert. Say hi?)

Hello there Miss Ethelbert. How are you doing?

[ WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE YOU. Diana turns her head and notices Miss Pauling, a false smile on her face. It's convincing enough to get by, though. ]

Fine, Miss Pauling.

(Not convincing enough for someone who deals out her own fake smiles all the time. But she's got a genuine one for you today. Or is it?)

That's good to hear. Will you be attending the Homecoming Dance on Friday? It seems that most of everyone will be going.

[ She is still so suspicious of you. So suspicious. ]

No. I have better things to do with my time.

I just don't see the need to attend such an event.

Hehehe. I think it'll be interesting. These celebrations are a natural part of the teenaged human life, are they not?

They are, but I'll have no part of it. I see it as a waste of time that I could be spending doing other tasks that are much more important.

[ Old habits die hard. At least, that's what Minako tells herself about finding herself in the church once again, planning to just silently pray to herself a little as she's done a few times back home, but.. she finds there to be organ music today, not to mention a familiar person playing said organ.

She doesn't speak up about it though - she just goes and kneels in one of the benches, hands clasped together as if in prayer while she listens to the music, completely silent. ]

[ Out of the corner of her eye, Diana spots Minako. She doesn't say anything to her until the piece is done, and even then, she can see that she's praying. She simply turns her full attention back on to the organ itself.

Maybe the music can help out with Minako's thoughts - who knows? ]

[ Normally she wouldn't have as much to think about anymore - she had more or less settled on the dilemma that had been troubling her for the longest time back home, after all - but this place has screwed all of that up again, bringing back all her older doubts, worries and insecurities.

She's quiet for a long time, probably at least five minutes or so, before she moves up and walks towards Diana. She still doesn't say anything though as she watches the girl play. ]

[ When Diana stops in the middle of her playing, it's out of mild concern. She usually didn't meddle in the affairs of others, but she does have some interest - however small - in Minako.

She swallows a bit and turns to her, giving her a light smile. ]

I hadn't pegged you to be religious, Miss Aino. [ Her voice is more caring and gentle than anything. It's definitely a change from when she's usually in school. ]

I'm open for commissions. What did you have in mind?

I was hoping that I could have a suit made for me, as well as a tie and a pair of gloves to go along with it.

A suit, hmm? That shouldn't be that difficult... though I will need to take your measurements first to ensure a good fit. I've never made a suit to fit a woman before.

And if we turn to page 78, we find that Elizabeth Bennet does not, in fact, spare us 300 pages of tiptoeing about her true feelings, but actually spends the remainder of her time drawing squiggly little circles with occult designs that vaguely resemble the Rite of Ashk'Ente.

[That voice is awfully loud. And near. And behind you.]

[ Diana notes the loud voice and decides to pause to look up at Susan from where she's sitting. ]

Hello, Miss Sto Helit. I do think Elizabeth Bennet did say that as long as I did what I was expected to in this class, including homework and any other assignments, that I could do what I wished with my time. And, while we do not know what the Rite of Ashk'Ente is as of right now, we do know that they are transmutation circles that do not necessarily deal in occult manners.

Any questions?

Quite true. However, as pleased as I am to hear Elizabeth Bennet sing like a skylark, I believe she is disrupting some other members of the class who may benefit from this discussion.

And, as far as my knowledge goes, Elizabeth Bennet has been remarkably quiet and as non-disruptive as possible, Miss Sto Helit.
