[Mikage wanders in rather shakily, leaning on the doorframe of the kitchen entrance without noticing Shuri there at first. Gone. Gone. Does it mean it's for forever? What if Teito never comes back? He'll never be able to talk to him again. Going home means Ayanami would...
[ it takes a few seconds for him to notice the other boy's condition, too busy mentally whining about how much better it would e if he was home and had his servants. when he hears someone walk in, he just waves a hand toward them, ready to bark out an order to make himself feel better about, well, himself. ]

he's never seen Mikage like that. Ever. ] ... Mikage?
[Mikage looks up uneasily, finally noticing Shuri and looking somewhat startled and... something else. It's probably going too far to call his expression "heartbroken", but he's as close as someone can get at this point.]
[The response takes a while to arrive, and when it does, Mikage's voice is considerably stronger. Still not exactly happy, but more than might be expected.]
Yeah, of course. Don't worry about me, Kurt. [He pauses, then adds-] Thanks for checking on me.
[Richard hesitates for a while before speaking up, if only because he doesn't know Mikage all that well, but... he remembers that the man was Naoki's friend, and not only that, he remembers his attempt to comfort Isamu after Naoki was sent home. Richard appreciates that a great deal, if nothing else; it's his turn to return that favor now.]
