Hey, you! Just calling to check on you. The room is eerily quiet and empty without you around. Coming home soon? I might be at Uncle Braska's hotel. He's here for two weeks before school starts, visiting Yunie and me. There's a pool where he's staying, and he's invited us- and by us I mean you and me- to go swimming any time we want. Taking Pi with me, so it'll just be you and the kitty at home.

But, hey, later? Can we... talk or something?

Hey Fran, I'm having trouble getting in touch with Balthier, so I'm going to tell you instead.

I just got word from my eyes and ears on the streets that bounty hunters from Ivalice are here looking for you and your friend. Just be cautious, okay? Whoever they are, they have to have help, because they wouldn't be on these streets without it, trust me.

Bounty hunters? Hmm I was wondering how long it would take them to track us here. I think this is the longest we've gone without having to look over our shoulder ever two seconds.

Sorry Rikku... I did plan on coming home, but all this newfound information has stopped those plans.

Go ahead and lock the deadbolt, I won't be home tonight. I'm at Riku's house right now, we're going over things and trying to figure out the best way to get Balthier out of there.

I can't focus on getting better until I know what I'm getting better from! And unless it's really something horrible, I won't find out until the 25th! So that's almost a whole week of me having no one and nothing to worry about! So I'll worry about you and your little man-tourage!

Riku thinks he knows who has him. Not sure if he knows where he is, but I think we're getting close. I'm more worried about the condition we're going to find him in. They found his gun in an alley and he never lets that gun out of his sight...

Fran...? I got your number from somebody... I'm sorry I sound so exhausted, I didn't sleep last night as I tried so hard to get more answers... I-I'm a little shaky, but I wanted to tell you as soon as possible...

I was trying to find a house number and I found out that... that the house was recently abandoned. Balthier is still in there, in the basement, left for dead.
