May I just say how nice it is to have a doggy character that acts within the real range of doggy behavior? Dogs are wonderful, and intuitive, and read human intentional movement like nobody's business, but faaaar too many of the dogs one meets in fics make Lassie look like a lazy piker!

Of course Jack would never actually want this, but it still must be refreshing to turn the tables and take care of Sam for a while. Good for the feelings of self-worth!

:) Glad Dorothy's coming off as realistic. Last year in college I wrote my English research paper on assistance dogs, and discovered that there are dogs that can sense when a person is going to have a seizure, and actually do something about it. People don't even know HOW the dogs do it. Funny thing is, I decided on my research topic because I was writing this story. lol.
