It was probably an odd sight with five coffins sitting there. Five coffins in the middle of some old warehouse, looking like they had been lovingly tended to as they gleamed under the harsh lights hanging above. Well four gleamed beautifully while one sat wide open, the lining splattered with the blood of the guard who was on the floor at the base of the coffin. And, from the blood pooling out beneath him, it was clear he was dead.
Not that Ric would have much of a chance to process before he'd sense someone nearby and one look would have him facing an irate looking young woman who looked like she has stepped out of the twenties.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Rebekah demanded, stepping closer as her eyes flashed angrily.
There was only so much stupid he could play, what with being in a warehouse with a bunch of coffins, a dead guy and a pissed off woman Ric was going to assume was a vampire. He could be wrong about that, but she was in Klaus' warehouse, and they had been sent here by Katherine.
Not that it made any difference, just at the moment.
"Alaric Saltzman. I'm a history teacher. Who are you?"
Irritation made her gaze sharper as she growled a little, clearly not in the mood to be jerked around and lied to. "Stop it!" She commanded as she advanced on him.
"Now answer my questions or else I'll rip your spine out through your mouth." She stopped. "Now who are you and why are you here?" She started to move again to put herself between him and the coffins. "And where is Nik?"
Well, that was a pretty good indication that she was a vampire and... one of the siblings Elijah had wanted to find?
"My name is Alaric Saltzman. I am a history teacher. I don't know where your brother is, except with one of my friends. That's why I'm here. I'm looking for that friend."
The brother is a gamble, but his brain is working on overtime, what with the snarling vampire, and all.
Rebekah watched Kol shut down and it made her frown. It also made her instantly dislike Damon just a little which earned him a little snarl when he dared to get mad at them.
"We didn't kill him." She replied unapologetically as they certainly could have.
Outside, in the hall, Elena leaned against the wall before sliding down to sit on the floor. She didn't even have the energy to stand anymore.
Ric put his hand on Damon's shoulder, and gripped it as firmly as he could. "I'm fine." His head was pounding and he was dizzy, but whatever.
He felt like he was working with Elijah now, at least, which was... somewhat odd. But he could not handle this blowing up any further right now.
"Elijah. The hotel's mostly empty. Leave a couple of bags of blood for Damon, and take the rest and find a vacant room. That will give you somewhere to retreat to, for tonight. Maybe once you get Kol and Rebekah settled, you can check on Elena."
He was kind of... done for tonight, sadly. Also he clearly needed to talk to Damon.
Kol, for his part, just turned and walked out. He didn't give anyone a chance to stop him, or stop at Elena. A vacant room, he was sure he could find. He was also quite sure he could find his way back here, even as disoriented as he was by... everything. He had compulsion on his side, at least.
That Damon wanted to lunge at them anyway was apparent, and Ric couldn't physically stop him, but the grip on his shoulder did, anyway, though he was trembling beneath it, still confused and upset from the kiss and somehow upsetting someone he didn't know coupled with Ric being dinner for one of them (though Elijah's comment made sense, honestly).
Elijah took in the scene, plus Kol, and with Elena having left, and just nodded, moving to take the cooler after removing a couple of bags for Damon.
"We'll do what we need to and we can meet back in the morning to see what we want to do about Stefan and Klaus," he said quietly. "I'll see to Elena, as well..."
He reached for Rebekah's hand to lead her out with him, pausing to look back at Ric with a half smile. "Thank you."
Then he tugged lightly on his sister's hand, moving out to the hall. He paused when he saw Elena, and gave Rebekah a look, nodding down the hall. "Go follow Kol. Leave the door open when you find a room. I'll be right there."
