He drove them out to the burger place. It was mostly empty when they got there. "Anywhere with a bigger population, this would be a bad sign," He said, as once they were out of his car and headed toward the door. "Here, it just means there's some even, somewhere close, and we get service in a reasonable amount of time."

She grinned as she fell into step beside him, tucking her arm through his. "I trust your judgment...and it smells delicious even from here."

He grinned a bit at the way she took his arm. "I'll start bringing you around when I check out new places. You'll save me having to get the food, before I decide if it's decent or not."

He pulled the door open for her when they got there, and held it. "After you."

She flashed him a saucy grin in turn and tsked. "At least my gifts are good for something?"

With another smile, she slipped into the restaurant, sniffing the air discreetly but with appreciation before glancing back at him.

It was a small enough place for Ric to grab the menus from the counter, himself, and head back to a table near one of the front windows and still be visible to anyone who wandered out to see who had come in. He snickered a bit, at the sniffing, but not meanly. "Your gifts are good for a lot." That part wasn't a joke.
