"You know, someone might think you're compensating for something with that bow." And hello. He meant to add a hello or some sort of equal greeting in there.
"Then please don't tell me what it says about the girl who I saw shooting one just like it the other day," Alec requested. Huh, that retort was almost snappy. Way to go, Alec.
"She told you that?" Wonderful. Alec ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, her name's Kate Bishop. I don't know why Natalie felt the need to tell you. It wasn't that interesting."
Unless you were the kind of person who thought Alec getting his ass kicked in a contest was interesting.
"Heavy firepower," Victor observed matter-of-factly as he came back to the room and launched himself onto his bed. "Where are you keeping it?"
Far be it from him to deny Alec his hobbies -- especially given the milk cartons of electronic stuffon his side of the room -- but the longbow was rather noticable.
"I'm not sure," Alec replied, turning away from his super-weird scrutiny of the room to look at Victor. "Maybe my closet. It's a little big to just keep on the bookshelf."
"I didn't think of that," Alec said thoughtfully, peering under his bed. Yeah, it would work. Obviously. He lifted up the bow and got to work putting it back in its case so it could go under the bed. "Good call. Considering the island, I think I'd rather have it in the room. Unless you mind."
