[ Neil, for his part, was....nervous probably wasn't the right word. He wasn't even sure if there was a word for the complex maelstrom of emotions he was feeling right now. For all his casual phone call talk, this was no innocent visit.

His and Lyle's last conversation was playing on his mind as well. He'd been so sure, so absolutely bone-deep sure, that keeping the gory details of what happened two years ago from Lyle was the right thing to do. Torture wouldn't have pulled it out of him. And then...someone talked, and now Lyle knew - not all, but enough to make him sure something happened.

And he'd been hurt that Neil had kept it from him.

Normally, Neil could take that. Let Lyle be angy at him rather than worried over him. Not to say he hadn't hated it, but some things were more important. Even the secret which he was pretty sure was Lyle's hadn't done more than make him feel a twinge of guilt. He didn't want to hurt Lyle, but this way was better, right? And then that damn virus had happened, and Neil had spent a weekend ( ... )

[Being February, it was still pretty cold out in the city, and Lyle was shuffling around a little for warmth by the time Neil came into view. Still, he smiled genuinely and gave a little wave of his own as he saw his twin coming into view. Even if their last real conversation had been a fight, it was still good to see him.]
