Sam was rather pleased with how well his classes were going so far. The coursework was giving him something to do and while it was challenging, he definitely had enough time to work on it all. Also, he found that it was making him appreciate his free time more, which he had needed

Okay, the knock at the door just as he posed his question was a bit creepy. Sam was a firm believer in coincidences and so he wasn't quite ready to chalk the knock up to some sort of actual higher island authority.

"Come in," he said, swinging his legs off the bed and standing. He hadn't expected any visitors, so whoever was stopping by was a pleasant surprise.

Sam had never seen Zell in anything but good spirits. While he didn't really look sad, he was definitely not as carefree as he normally was.

"Okay, in the interest of puttin you out of whatever misery you're in, have a seat and just tell me what's up," Sam said, nodding to a chair.
