There'd been a few scattered bits of jogging away from things and even the occasional sprint and of course, plenty of hopping about during sport ( Read more... )

Trism takes one look, yanks Liir into the room, and draws his sword.

"What's happened? Who's after you?"

He keeps Liir behind him but close and watches the door.

Trism follows him in, kneels down to rub Liir's back, and wipes his mouth with a towel when he's certain that his companion is finished. He hrn turns Liir and wraps one strong arm around his waist and cups the back of his haid with his free hand, gripping charcoal hair slightly. He takes a breath, and begins to sing.

Love is not a word
That I shall speak so free
Love is not a gift
I buy and bring to thee
Love is not a pearl
I win from deepest sea
Love is who I am
When you are here with me

The floor of a tavern washroom that reeks of vomit is really not the best place for a romantic moment, but Trism's desperate and hoping that Liir will finally listen.

"Stop it," he asks after a moment. "That, anyway. Oh hell..."

And he's got a whole handful of Trism's shirt in his hands.

"Stop what, my dove?"

He holds Liir close and nuzzles into his hair.

"I love you, Liir. Never forget that. I will forever be by your side."

"All right, love, if that's what you need. I just thought we ought to settle things quickly. I suppose Candle might like a minute to herself as well."

He stands them both and leads Liir to the bed.

"She probably does at that," he admits, but he can't think. He's being selfish again, slow again. Never been good with surprises, she'd reminded him and yes, it was true.

"I don't want either of you to leave."

"I'm not leaving you. Liir. I don't think Candle will either. Let's rest now, and things will look better in the morning."

He sheds their clothes and tucks them in.

"Good, because right now they look--"

And he drops off, utterly spent and lost as anything or anyone has ever been.

"Shh, my dove, sleep now."

He wraps around his distraught lover, pulls the duvet over them, and follows him into sleep.
